Read MoreViner ×Under my sink, it gets very damp, and we previously had the smaller plastic dehumidifiers with the blue netted lids which work well BUT need to be replaced every other week which can be annoying and costly in the long run.This much larger unit is perfect for me - just like my previous ones, it does not require electricity, and is just a "set and forget" sort of thing.. until it fills up anyway.It's pretty simple - just open up the top of the unit, and remove the comically large tablet out of it's airtight packaging and place it inside the unit, and then just locate the unit somewhere close to where you'd normally notice condensation or damp, and it will slowly get to work absorbing moisture out of the air. It's a slow process and it can be weeks before you notice it filling up with water, but they do work great. They can last several months which is brilliant. Once it's filled up with water, you don't dispose of it, but just empty it out, add a new tablet, and let it get back to work.It's only been a few days so far, but can see some small signs of liquid captured - we're hoping this will be at least just as effective as the previous ones we used so will update this in a month or so.Would highly recommend, particularly for homes where central heating is used frequently. Whilst a dehumidifier machine would do a better job, it obviously costs money to run, so these are a very low budget alternative that will help protect against mould.
